So you’re looking to adopt bunnies, very exciting! Please have a good read of our rehoming process below and the requirements we look for in a new home.
Please note all visits are by appointment only and usually on Saturdays, once we have reviewed your rehoming application we will invite you to visit.
Our housing requirements
We rehome to both indoor and outdoor set ups.
Sadly only one in twenty of our adoption enquiries meet the minimum amount of space rabbits truly need to thrive. We align with The Rabbit Welfare Association‘s recommendation that rabbits need a minimum of 60 square foot at all times. This applies to both indoor and outdoor homes.

If you are not able to meet this minimum requirement, we recommend you reconsider rabbits as pets. Keeping them in a smaller set up will lead to both physical and behavioural issues. We absolutely will not rehome to less than 60 square foot of space. We will also not rehome if rabbits are left to free roam outdoors unsupervised as this is not safe for them.
If you have already bought a set up that’s too small, we can advise on how to improve the set up to meet our requirements. This could include adding a run or aviary next to or over the top of a hutch; or for indoors adding secure panels around a cage so you don’t need the wire part any more and the rabbits can have a larger space to play.

Bonding
We do not rehome rabbits as singles. All rabbits are happiest with a friend.
We have lots of pairs, and a few trios and groups, available for adoption, but if you already have a single rabbit and are looking for a friend, we can help with the bonding process.
We will only bond your rabbit if they have been fully vaccinated and spayed/neutered.
Please email us on rabbit_residence@hotmail.com with some details and photos of your rabbit and where they live and we can advise on next steps.
Please note we rarely bond our singles with already established pairs or groups, bonding into groups is a very tricky process. You can email us for more details on this.
You can read more about how we bond rabbits below.
