How we bond our rabbits
Application process
If you have a single rabbit, we can bond your bun with one of our rescue rabbits.
When you first contact us, we will need to know all about your rabbit. This includes their age, whether they have been spayed/neutered and whether they’re up to date on vaccinations. Unfortunately we will not bond entire or unvaccinated rabbits.
We will also need to know where your rabbit lives to ensure you are meeting our minimum housing requirements. You can read more about our housing requirements here. If you can give us a description or photos that would be perfect.
Ready to Bond
Once your application has been approved, we will invite you to come and visit us. During your visit you can ask questions, discuss any concerns and meet some of our single rabbits. We will ask you to pick three or four of your favourites to try, but ultimately it will be your rabbit who decides who their forever partner will be!
Your rabbit will then come to stay with us on site for usually round 7-10 days while we work to bond them. We will keep you regularly updated with progress and when they’re ready to collect.
Post-Bond Care
Once your rabbits come home, you will need to be careful with the new partnership to ensure they settle in well. Some relationships can be fragile at the beginning and we hate to see bonds fail.
You will need to have thoroughly cleaned their area before they’ve come home. You may need to restrict their space for a week or two at first as suddenly introducing them to a very large space can cause stress on a new bond. We can offer you lots of post-adoption advice and we will always be there to help.
